Reading Homework
A New phonics reading book will be given to each every Monday, providing the book they have had from the previous week has been returned. Please read a little each night with your child and sign their reading record. Children to re-read and practice reading the book with fluency and expression over the weekend.
A comprehension sheet OR ECollins reading book will also be assigned to your child. This will be the same text they are accessing in their guided reading sessions in school.
Your child will also be able to choose a reading for pleasure book from our school libary and take it home each week, providing the book they have had from the previous week has been returned, this will be changed every Monday. This text is to be shared with an adult.
General Homework
Maths homework is assigned online using My Maths (login to be found in the childrens reading record). This will be assigned on a Monday and should be completed by the Friday. Maths homework will be linked to the topics previously covered.
Children also have a Times Tables Rockstars account assigned to them (login to be found in the childrens reading record). This should be accessed weekly, to help your child with their times tables.
Spellings will be given out on a Monday and should be practiced each night and returned to school by Friday. Each child will take part in a spellings test at the end of each week. Your childs spelling test results will be written in each reading record for parents to see. The spellings given to your child will be linked to the spelling rules/patterns your child will be looking at in phonics that week.
