Our Faith Life

Our faith life is very important at Mount Carmel. We celebrate our faith in many different ways. Look at some of the special events that have taken place during the school year.

Our Lady's Birthday

We gathered as a school community in Mount Carmel Church to celebrate Our Lady’s Birthday. We presented a statue of Our Lady with flowers and birthday cards and sang some hymns dedicated to Mary. When we came back to school we had cake to celebrate and an extra playtime.

Season of Creation

The GIFT team led a special collective worship about the ‘Season of Creation’ which lasts from the 1st September to the 4th October. During this worship, the children led us through the story of Creation and the message behind Pope Francis encyclical ‘Laudato Si.’ The children helped us to reflect on how we can be better stewards of God's creation and suggested some small actions that can collectively make a big difference.

World Peace Day

For World Peace Day, Y5H led a beautiful collective worship on the theme of peace for their parents and the juniors department.

Harvest Festival

We had a beautiful Harvest Festival at church, where we explored the Catholic Social Teaching principle of "Option for the Poor." It was a special moment as we prayed for those experiencing poverty and hardship and reflected on our responsibility to support them. Thank you for your generous donations of food items for The Lalley Centre—they will make a difference to our local community. As always, the children prayed and sang beautifully, making the service a memorable and uplifting occasion.
