Charity

Lent 2026

Throughout Lent, our children showed incredible generosity, compassion and leadership through a variety of fundraising and service projects. They raised funds for charities, supported our local community, and engaged in activities that reflected the values of Catholic Social Teaching.

  • Nursery and Reception sold juice and biscuits on Fridays to support Mary’s Meals, helping children around the world access daily meals and education.

  • Year 1 collected food and toiletries for a local foodbank.

  • Year 2 held a “guess the number of marbles” activity to raise money for Caritas, with the winner receiving a personally chosen storybook.

  • Year 3 also collected donations for a local foodbank.

  • Year 4 ran a pre-loved toy and book sale to support Caritas and local families.

  • Year 5 organized a giant litter pick around the school and Wilson Road, alongside posters to raise environmental awareness.

  • Year 6 focused on care for creation, creating “One Little Thing…” posters to encourage the school community to take small actions to protect our planet.

Staff also supported the efforts by donating Easter eggs for a Holy Week raffle, with all proceeds going to St Joseph’s Penny (Caritas).

Each campaign inspired compassion, awareness, and action. We were so proud of the children’s creativity, commitment, and willingness to serve others.

A huge thank you for all your support with our Lenten appeals. Together, we raised £517.13 for Caritas and £160 for Mary’s Meals- a fantastic total of £677.13

Advent 2025

During Advent, the children collected toiletries for Caritas and took part in Christmas Jumper Day, raising a fantastic £200. Their generosity and enthusiasm helped support those in need and brought the true spirit of giving into our school community.

Harvest Autumn 2025

During the autumn term, as part of our Harvest Festival, the children and families of Mount Carmel generously donated food and toiletries for the Lalley Centre. These contributions will support our local food bank and provide essential help to families within our community.

Welcome to Mount Carmel RC Primary; a place where we proclaim Christ’s message of hope and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
