In Science, we have been learning all about plants. We have done 2 experiments to explore different parts of plants.

Our first experiment was to see if plants can grow in different materials. We experimented with paper, soil, cotton wool, nothing and sand. We planted 4 seeds in each pot and kept the water, the amount of material, the temperature and the sunlight the same for each pot. After a week, we looked at our results and measured the height of the plants that had grown.

Our second experiment was to investigate if temperature affected how water was transported in plants. We put celery sticks in coloured water and put two on the windowsill and two in the fridge to compare how far the water travelled up the stem. We drew two scientific diagrams to show our results.
