Zehra Hicks Read and Draw Along

This week was extra exciting in Year 3 because we had a fantastic Zoom call with the author and illustrator Zehra Hicks. She told us all about where she gets her ideas from and how she creates her wonderful stories and pictures.

We even got to hear her read from When Dinosaurs Walked the Earth by Sean Taylor, a book she illustrated. The children loved listening to the story and spotting all the fun details in her drawings.

Then came the best part — a draw‑along with Zehra herself. Everyone joined in and created brilliant, imaginative dinosaur pictures, complete with adventures and stories of their own. The creativity in the room was amazing, and the children were so proud of their artwork.

What a memorable experience for Year 3!
