Young Entrepreneurs in Action: Year 6 Rise to the Fiver Challenge!
Date: 14th Jul 2025 @ 9:06pm
During the Summer Term , our Year 6 pupils took a bold step into the world of business as they reached the exciting final stages of the Fiver Challenge—a nationwide initiative that gives young people the opportunity to develop their enterprise skills in a real-world context.
Armed with just £5 per team, each group was tasked with starting their own mini business from the ground up. From brainstorming original ideas to sourcing materials, designing logos and crafting attention-grabbing advertisements, the children embraced the challenge with energy and ambition.
The weeks of preparation culminated in a fantastic enterprise morning, where the school was buzzing with creativity, confidence and commerce! Stalls popped up across the hall and playground, each one a hive of activity as children pitched their products and services to a steady stream of enthusiastic customers—including classmates and staff.
From handmade crafts and sweet treats to games and accessories, the variety and quality of the business ideas on display were genuinely impressive. The children demonstrated incredible teamwork, problem-solving, and initiative, showing just how much they had learned about budgeting, marketing and customer service.
What made the event even more rewarding was that many teams turned a profit, proving that they had not only understood the core principles of business but had applied them successfully. Their hard-earned money will now go towards funding the Year 6 end-of-year celebrations, making the project all the more meaningful. Not only did they gain valuable experience, but they also played a direct role in creating lasting memories as they prepare to move on to secondary school.
The Fiver Challenge was more than just a business project—it was a chance for our Year 6 pupils to showcase their creativity, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, and they certainly rose to the occasion.
A huge well done to all our budding business moguls—you’ve shown that with a great idea, teamwork, and determination, you really can turn five pounds into something brilliant. Watch this space—our future CEOs have truly arrived!
