Year 5βs Manchester Carnival! ππ
Date: 23rd Oct 2025 @ 7:22pm
As part of our topic on Brazil, Year 5 have been learning all about the world-famous Rio Carnival - one of the most colourful and joyful celebrations on Earth. Inspired by the music, movement and creativity of Rio, the children decided to bring a little bit of carnival spirit to Manchester!
Our very own Manchester Carnival was a celebration of everything that makes our city special. The children designed and created fabulous costumes influenced by:
-
The Manchester bee – a proud symbol of our community and hard work π
-
The Manchester weather – complete with clouds, raindrops and plenty of sparkle β
-
Our love for football – blue, red and everything in between! β½
-
And of course, our amazing music scene πΆ
The day was filled with colour, rhythm and smiles as Year 5 paraded their creations, danced to upbeat music and celebrated together. It was a wonderful way to combine creativity, culture and local pride while learning about the wider world.
A huge well done to everyone in Year 5 for their enthusiasm and imagination and thank you to all the staff who helped make the day so special! ππ€
