Working with Belinda

During Reception’s Welcome Assembly, the children proudly revealed a beautiful piece of 
artwork, a flower, that they created in collaboration with local artist Belinda John. Belinda 
worked with the children to explore primary colours through painting. The children even 
experimented with mixing these colours to create secondary ones such as orange, green
and purple. They also had fun trying out different tools and techniques to apply paint to 
paper. Each child then designed their own unique collage petal, representing their 
individuality and the special gifts they bring to Mount Carmel. Now assembled together and 
proudly displayed in our school hall, this vibrant artwork symbolises how our Reception 
children are growing and blossoming in God’s love.
