The Trinity

Date: 13th May 2026 @ 2:06pm

This week in Religion, our Year 3 children have been joyfully exploring one of the greatest mysteries of our Catholic faith — the Holy Trinity. Together, we wondered about how God can be three persons in one: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

To help us understand this beautiful mystery, the children worked with three different coloured ribbons. Each ribbon represented one person of the Trinity, and the children chose their colours with great thought and care. Once they had chosen, they braided their ribbons together — a simple but powerful symbol of how the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are distinct, yet completely united in love.

Each child’s braid became a unique expression of faith — a small, colourful reminder of a very big mystery. It has been inspiring to see how thoughtfully the children engaged with this activity and how confidently they shared their ideas.

As always, we encourage you to continue these conversations at home. Ask your child which colours they chose and why. Their explanations may surprise you and will certainly warm your heart.

Together, we continue to grow in faith, wonder and love.

Welcome to Mount Carmel RC Primary; a place where we proclaim Christ’s message of hope and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
