Our Church

Reception visited our church to learn about our parish church as a special place where we meet our friends and sing and say prayers. The children learnt about the altar where Fr Clement blesses the bread and wine just like Jesus did with his disciples at the Last Supper, using the words that Jesus said, 'Do this in memory of me.' They also learnt that the Gospel is placed on a special stand called an ambo so everyone can hear and see when the Gospel is read. They also looked at the candles around church, reminding them that Jesus is the Light of the World. They looked in wonder at the statues and the mosaics of the saints. Afterwards, the children did some fantastic writing about what they had seen at church. We were so proud of them!
