Year 5 Bring the Carnival Spirit to Manchester! π
Year 5 have been exploring the exciting world of Brazilian culture, focusing on the famous Rio Carnival! We discovered how this spectacular celebration brings people together through colourful costumes, music, dancing and parades.
We compared the traditions of Rio Carnival with celebrations and culture here in the UK, thinking about what makes our own city of Manchester special.
Inspired by what we learned, we decided to create our very own Manchester Carnival! π
The children dressed up in colourful outfits inspired by Manchester, celebrating our city's identity, communities and culture. We then paraded around the school, sharing our carnival spirit, creativity and enthusiasm with everyone we met.
As we explored the similarities and differences between Brazil and the UK, we discovered that although our celebrations may look different, they both bring people together, encourage creativity and give us a chance to celebrate what makes our communities unique.
What a fantastic way to celebrate culture, diversity and our wonderful city of Manchester! Well done, Year 5, for bringing the carnival magic to life! ππ₯π
