Learning about Islam
Date: 15th Jul 2026 @ 4:22pm
As part of our RE Mrs Yasin came in to class to talk to us about Islam we discovered some of the traditions and beliefs that are important to Muslim people. We explored what a madrasa is and learned that many Muslim children attend after school or at weekends to learn more about the Qur'an and their faith. We also explored the traditional clothing that some Muslims choose to wear and discussed how it can represent faith, respect and identity. As part of our learning, we discovered the importance of wudu, the special washing Muslims perform before prayer. Throughout the session, the children showed curiosity, asked thoughtful questions and demonstrated respect for different beliefs and cultures. It was wonderful to see them developing their understanding of the diverse world around them.
