Garden Obelisks in Year 3

This week, we proudly completed our final Design and Technology project of Year 3, and what a fantastic way to finish the year!

Inspired by our learning about Ancient Egypt, we carefully designed and built our own garden obelisks. We began by creating a prototype, using it to test and improve our ideas before making our final masterpieces. It was wonderful to see the children showing such creativity, resilience and attention to detail throughout the whole design process.

Teamwork was an important part of our project too. Working with a partner, the children carefully joined their pieces together, supporting one another and solving problems as they worked. We were so impressed with their cooperation and determination.

Tomorrow, we'll add the finishing touch by planting sweet pea seeds at the base of each obelisk. Over the coming weeks, we hope to watch the beautiful flowers climb up the structures, creating a lasting reminder of all the hard work, creativity and learning that has taken place this year.
