Clarice Cliff & Josiah Wedgwood

In Year 5, we have been exploring the work of Clarice Cliff and Josiah Wedgwood. We looked at their different pottery designs and styles to get inspiration for our own creations. We experimented with two pottery techniques: the pinching method and the coiling technique. After practising both methods, we designed our own pots inspired by one of these artists. We then got hands-on with the clay and brought our designs to life by making our very own pots using the pinching method. We have really enjoyed developing our pottery skills, being creative and learning how artists use different techniques to create unique pieces of pottery!
