Celebrating European Day of Languages
Date: 25th Sep 2026 @ 12:11pm
Today, Year 3 had a wonderful time celebrating European Day of Languages!
We began the day with a fantastic session in the hall led by Mrs Gee. We watched exciting videos featuring the illustrator Alex Scheffler and took part in a variety of fun language activities. The children enjoyed completing crosswords, word searches and matching challenges, which helped us learn more German.
Back in the classroom, we continued our activities and said a fond farewell to Wuschel, waving him goodbye as he returned to his planet after helping us on our language-learning adventure!
We also spent time colouring the flags of our home countries and sharing the different languages spoken by members of our class. It was wonderful to celebrate the rich variety of cultures and languages that make our classroom such a special place.
We were amazed to discover just how many languages are represented in Year 3. We are incredibly proud to be such a diverse and multilingual class. Today reminded us that speaking different languages is something to celebrate, and that learning about other cultures helps us understand and appreciate one another even more.
What a fantastic day of learning, sharing and celebrating languages from around the world! 🌍✨
