Art Week - Alberto Giacometti
Date: 13th Jun 2025 @ 10:54am
During Art Week this year, we have been studying the work of Alberto Giacometti. Giacometti creates sculptures out of bronze using thin and thick shapes for his subject's limbs and bodies. We looked at his work and offered opinions on different sculptures. We then thought about how he portrayed emotion and movement through his work and sketched the sculptures. We then created a pose to show an emotion or movement and sketched a design using this as inspiration. Next, we created a sculpture of our design out of tin foil and finally, we painted our sculptures black or brown and then gold or bronze to give them the same metallic effect as Giacometti's.
Check out our art journey and final sculptures in next week's Art Exhibition, after school on Wednesday!
