A Beautiful Harvest Festival at Mount Carmel Church
Date: 23rd Oct 2026 @ 7:25pm
What a truly gorgeous Harvest Festival we enjoyed at Mount Carmel Church! Our school community came together to celebrate the beauty of the harvest season, giving thanks for all that we have and reflecting on the importance of kindness, generosity and looking after others.
This year’s celebration was particularly special as, for the first time, our Infant and Junior Choirs joined together to fill the church with their beautiful voices. A real highlight was the choir performing Dance of the Leaves, accompanied by sign language, which made for a truly beautiful and moving performance.
Our Year 6 GIFT Team led us in thoughtful prayers, helping us reflect on the meaning of harvest and the importance of sharing our blessings with others. Each class also brought a special offering to the altar, representing their collection and reminding us of the generosity shown throughout our school community.
We were delighted to welcome parents of our choir members, who joined us for this special occasion. It was wonderful to share the celebration with our families, and the children should be incredibly proud of their contributions.
Most importantly, our Harvest Festival was a wonderful opportunity to put our values into action. Thanks to the incredibly generous donations of food and gifts from our families, we were able to take our collected offerings to the Lalley Centre (Caritas) in our local area, helping to support people and families who may be experiencing difficult times. We are so grateful to everyone who donated and helped make this possible. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference.
A huge thank you to our amazing children and staff for all their hard work in preparing for the celebration, to our choir members for their wonderful singing, to the Year 6 GIFT Team for leading our prayers, and to our families for their continued support.
