Y6CC visit the Christmas Markets in Manchester
Date: 21st Dec 2023 @ 8:37pm
Y6CC had a fantastic time visiting the Christmas Markets in Manchester. We experienced what a German Christmas market is like and managed to practise our German vocabulary while buying strudel.
We also visited the statue of Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln Square as part of our history topic looking at the Industrial Revolution. We remembered all those affected by the Cotton Famine in Manchester (1861-1865) and their role in supporting the abolition of slavery.
We also gathered around the crib in St. Ann’s Square to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
It was a great day!
