Homework and Reading in Y4S

Reading homework is set for every evening, please hear your child read and sign their reading book. If possible, please leave a small comment e.g. well done, beautiful reading, found these words a little tricky.

Your child will bring home their spelling list on Monday ready for the test on Friday. Encourage your child to learn their spellings and put them into a sentence. This is a good opportunity for them to work on their handwriting.

Your child will have a My Maths login. Here they will find their maths homework which is set on a Friday and should be completed and returned by Monday morning. Your child has the opportunity to play some fun games before completing the homework activity.

Towards the end of Year 4 all children will be teasted on their knowledge of the times tables. This is a statutory test and they have 6 seconds to answer each question. Olease encourage your child to learn their tables, the following sites are the ones we use in school-

Times Tables Rock Stars (your child will have their own log in details)  https://ttrockstars.com/

Maths Frame  https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/477/Multiplication-Tables-Check

PE/ Swimming in Y4S

Swimming lessons take place on Monday morning. Please remember to remove any jewellery before the lesson and wear a suitable coat as the children walk to the pool. Sometimes children are hungry after their lesson so please encourage them to bring a piece of fruit which they can eat on the walk back to school.

P.E. takes place on a Friday and are led by Joe who is our Manchester City coach. Please send your child to school with their P.E. kit ( white tshirt, navy or black shorts and pumps or trainers) . P.E. is thirsty work so please make sure they also have a water bottle with them.
